Can my dog go into Eilean Donan Castle?

Dogs are allowed on the island, but not inside the castle. The castle's own access statement says the interior is unsuitable for dogs because of the steep, narrow spiral stairs and corridors. Keep your dog on a lead on the causeway and island.

Do dogs need to be on a lead?

Many walks and estates here ask for leads, especially near livestock and ground-nesting birds from April to July. Follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and any local signs.
