Are dogs allowed at the Falls of Clyde and in the Clyde Valley woodlands?

Yes. Both ask you to keep your dog under close control, on a lead if necessary, and to pick up after it. The Scottish Wildlife Trust says this protects livestock, birds and other wildlife around the Falls of Clyde, and NatureScot warns that the Clyde Valley woodland trails have steep slopes, unfenced cliffs and deep rivers, so a lead is the safer choice near the edges.

Do dogs need to be on a lead?

Many walks and estates here ask for leads, especially near livestock and ground-nesting birds from April to July. Follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and any local signs.
