NotesSteep but short climb to the top of a 221 metre volcanic hill above East Lothian farmland, with views of the Bass Rock, the Tyne estuary and the Forth islands. It is a countryside site run by East Lothian Council rangers, and the hill fort on top is a scheduled monument. Exmoor ponies graze the hill, so keep your dog under close control and never let it chase them. There are no facilities and no bus service. Drive to the signposted turning on the minor road on the north side of the hill, or walk from East Linton (about 6km one way).
